DeLuca Named Fellow of SNS

John DeLuca, PhD, senior vice president of Kessler Foundation’sresearch and training was named Fellow of the Sports Neuropsychology Society. This recognition is granted to members who have made significant contributions to Sports Neuropsychology Society and other areas through their work in clinical, scholarly, and teaching/training activities related to sports brain injury.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized,” says DeLuca. “At Kessler Foundation we strive to do the best research, work with the newest technology, and invest quality time and efforts in training our scientists, to help improve the lives of people with disabilities.”

DeLuca’s most recent research ventures include the cerebral mapping of human cognitive processes using functional neuroimaging, as well as the development of research-based techniques to improve cognitive impairment. He serves on the editorial boards of many journals and has received numerous awards in recognition of his work including the Arthur Benton Award from the International Neuropsychological Society and the Rodger G. Barker Distinguished Research Contribution Award, from Division 22 (Rehabilitation Psychology) of the American Psychological Association.

He serves as a member and chair for the PhD Postdoctoral Fellowship Committee in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and directs the post-doctoral fellowship program in neuropsychology for the department. DeLuca serves on numerous committees for both national and international societies associated with neuropsychology.
