Bing (Brian) Yao, PhD, is the assistant director of the Rocco Ortenzio Neuroimaging Center at Kessler Foundation. His main research interests involve the development of novel techniques in biomedical engineering and signal processing, especially in the study of human brain anatomy and functions, as well as their clinical application in diseased brains. Dr. Yao has been conducting research using multi-modality biomedical techniques including MRI, functional MRI, Electroencephalography (EEG), and Electromyography (EMG) and applied these techniques to both healthy human volunteers and patients, leading to clinical applications in exploring the pathological mechanisms of a number of neurological diseases. He serves as a reviewer for several journals such as Brain, Journal of the Neurological Sciences, Neuroscience Letters, Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Yao was the winner of NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence (FARE) in 2009 and 2011, respectively. He is recognized as one of the Distinguished Reviewers of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
